Sonic The Kitten Meets His Big Brother

www.britethorn This is a video I shot when my wife and I introduced our new 9 week old Bengal kitten, Sonic, to our five year old Snow Bengal Mithril (who some of you may recognize from some of my other videos.) Our older cat, Silk, passed away from cancer a few months earlier, and Mithril had been very lonely since then. When the two meet you can hear the older cat making distinctly happy trilling noises when he meets the kitten. During the past two weeks since they met, there hasn’t been a bit of hissing from either one of them, and they often sleep curled up together. The music used in the video is, of course, “Three Little Kittens.” I played around with it a bit, and have admit to being more than a little pleased with the outcome. The Bengal is a medium to large domestic feline that originates from crossings of the small Asian Leopard Cat (ALC) to the domestic cat in an attempt to create a companion with an “exotic” look but a domestic temperament. After four to five generations of Bengal-to-Bengal breeding, the breed is recognized for championship competition by most international domestic cat associations including TICA, ACFA, GCCF, and AACE. p the background color of the Bengal, ranging from golden, rust, brown and orange, to sand, buff, or even ivory. Bengal spots also vary in color, from rust or cocoa and chocolate brown to charcoal or black. Mithril seems very happy to have a companion again. It’s wonderful that you and Mrs. Britethorn recognize that our animal friends have emotional needs beyond what we can give them. We have one cat who doesn’t get along very well with our other cats, but he absolutely loves our two dogs. We spends a lot of time with them when they’re in their yard and enjoys snuggling with our male dog.
ahhh, so sweet. Your Cat is either use to other animals or doesn’t have an Alpha attitute… PLEASE… that kitten is so adorable… I’ll trade you my three cats for a week if I can have the kitten for a week…

@jensjam My wife would kill me if I let either of the cats out of the house! Both cats are males. I’m told that its more difficult to introduce a female cat into a house with a male (and that’s been my experience as well.)

@britethorn I watched the video again and my “work” cat is very curious about the cat noises, though not curious enough to get out of her box to investigate.
@kaysandesses Clearly your work cat needs her own computer!
@britethorn Oh, she “uses” my keyboard all the time, especially when I’m on the phone and trying to use the computer at the same time. She also likes to “pet” the screen. Bear in mind she has all her claws. All I can say about that is Dell makes some very sturdy flat-screen monitors.
