Sure you could head out and buy your own inexpensive cat toy, but why not make your very own stuffed cat toy? This way you won’t only save a few bucks but as well you may feel proud knowing that you made your cat’s toy by hand. If you are interested in making your own stuffed cat toy, here is how you go about it.
The Way To Do It
So to make your own stuffed cat toy, you need to start by getting all the materials that you’re going to need. This includes yarn, a crochet hook, and a yarn needle. To stuff the cat you may use virtually whatever you need but fiberfill and quilt batting will work best.
Now to get the pattern you need two large rectangles for the body, 4 slim rectangles for the front and back legs, two squares for the cat’s head, and two small triangles for the cat’s ears. The tail is going to be crocheted differently so wait for that.
Now to start on the stuffed cat toy, you want to crochet all the parts together, and you can create the cat’s face by stitching on simple eyes. Remember that you don’t have to go into detail here because your cat is actually not going to care; you simply just need to make sure that it’s all going to remain together so it will not end up falling out all over the place.
Now once you have all the different pieces stitched together you need to create a long tail for the body. To do this you just want to crochet a long chain stitch cord and then come back with straightforward crochets to the body. Now you’ve finished your stuffed cat toy, although you can certainly add on more finishing touches if you like.
This is really quick and easy to make, and not the sole cat toy that you can make on your own either. There are heaps of other cat toys that are heaps of fun to make if you are interested, and it is a good way to use your time and your cat will certainly be grateful. Make a couple different toys so that your cat will always be entertained and having tons of fun.
Of course if you don’t have the time or resources for this you can just spend a pair USD and get your cat a toy.

My dog loves to play with a stuffed, green, squeeky mouse. He throws it up in the air and catches it. He also likes me to act like the mouse is trying to beat him up and play fetch with it. I’ve had to buy a few of them now because he will get so mad at it and tear all the stuffing out.
My cat has a ball that spins around the edge of a container. He can spin the ball forever and he is so entertained! He is so cute when he is lazy and laying while playing.

Leila loves to play with dog toys - medium sized stuffed animals that are large to her. She has a good time.

My kitten(4 months old) made gagging noises earlier on not long after i had disassembled a tv cabinet and he had destroyed a cat toy stuffed with polystyrene, since then he has been drinking loads of water but no more gagging noises. should i be concerned he has swallowed something he shouldn’t and seek assistance or is more likely down to the fact he ate a lot of dry food today (rather than whiskas kitten pouches) and was merely dehydrated?
It could be any number of things, from a stuck fur ball to him swallowing something to him having eaten too much dry food and being dehydrated. The best thing to do is to take him to the vet as if he has swallowed something he shoudln’t have it could be stuck around something important.
Good Luck and I hope this helps
