Information On Cat

I have 2 cats and three dogs. One night, I ran out of cat food (the dry type) and my cats were hungry. So since I had dog food only and the shops were closed, I gave them dog kibbles. They’re more or less of the same shape and size and are made of the same ingredients - chicken. My cats took a nibble and refused the rest of the bowl, preferring to go hungry than eat dog food. The next day, i got them a fresh pack of made-for-cats kibbles and they immediately dived in and ate up. How come my cats knew what I gave them wasn’t cat food?
I also know of dogs that won’t eat cat food for the long run (not mine though, cos they’re pigs and will eat anything).
It would be good if a pet food manufacturer can answer this question. Is there some special ingredient you put in cat and dog food that makes cats and dogs know which kibbles is who’s? Also, nowadays, dogs are eating fish too - like salmon. You can’t say it’s the ingredient. How come they know the difference?
They know, especially dogs. If you leave the cat food bowl on the floor the dog will go after it before it goes for the dog food. Cat food is higher quality ingredients than dog food, and dogs know this because after they try cat food they think it tastes better. Cats usually won’t eat the dog food if it is on the floor because of the same reasons. They know the cat food tastes better as well. Here is a solution to keep the dog from eating the cat’s food. Put the cat food bowl up on the counter top where the dog can’t reach it. Only the cat can jump up there, and the cat won’t go near the dogs food bowl on the floor.

I have a very large domestic short hair who can stand on his hind legs with his front legs on the dinner table and look over the table without stretching. He looks like a grey and white tabby but he is huge. I assume he is some type of crossbreed as he was a stray who adopted me. I was just wondering if there is a breed that gets this big or if he is just unusually large.
Maine Coons, Ragdolls, Pixie-Bobs, Chausies, and Norwegian Forest Cats are all very big cats (upwards of 20lbs for the males).
The tabby markings you mention are typical of Maine Coons however. Does he look kind of like these?

In any case.. chances are he’s a mix of some sort and not purebred anything
But a little Maine Coon could probably go a long way as far as size…

My dog loves to play with a stuffed, green, squeeky mouse. He throws it up in the air and catches it. He also likes me to act like the mouse is trying to beat him up and play fetch with it. I’ve had to buy a few of them now because he will get so mad at it and tear all the stuffing out.
My cat has a ball that spins around the edge of a container. He can spin the ball forever and he is so entertained! He is so cute when he is lazy and laying while playing.

Hi! I’m about 10 weeks pregnant and for the first 5 or 6 weeks I still had my cat living with me. She’s 1/2 indoor, 1/2 outdoor and does hunt rats and birds (yuck!). We did not have a litter box for her so I never came in direct contact with her feces, but she did come into the house, lay on our couch, sleep in the bed with us, etc. And one time before I took her to live with my friend, she actually touched her paw to the lower part of my lip (accident of course). I’m totally paranoid about toxoplasmosis as I know it’s very dangerous to an unborn baby especially in the first trimester. I first thought I was fine b/c I don’t have a litter box for her since she goes outside, but then I started worrying about her tracking it through the house, on the furniture, etc. I had her tested and they said she HAS been exposed but didn’t have an active infection -but they only tested her once so I’m not sure how they can know it isn’t active! Has anyone had a similar experience while preg?
You should try to keep everything very clean, and always wash your hands after petting her.
However, if you’ve had her for awhile, chances are you’ve already been exposed, which is a good thing. That means you’re not going to get infected now and hurt the baby.
That’s sad that you’ve sent her away!

Can you be a little more clear on what you are actually asking? I don’t know of any cases of children growing cat hair.
