Whenever you have to treat a big cat, it is a risk. Sometimes they can react poorly to being put under for simple procedures. And don’t forget the fact that you are working around a very dangerous animal. We had the chance to neuter Saber the black leopard. And we also took this opportunity to give him a check up, weigh him, and move him to another enclosure back on the tour path were he likes to look at the silly people. Follow along as Dr. Liz and Scott make it all look so easy. (Go knock the cat out, neuter him, weigh him, give him a reversal, and you’re all done.) Big Cat Rescue is an animal sanctuary and we do not breed out cats. Each year we are lucky enough to receive left over pumpkins from stores after halloween, pumpkins are a great source of enrichment for our cats, as well as a great source of entertainment for the staff and volunteers at Big Cat Rescue! Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a doubt that the bills weren’t representative of their actual usage, and no matter how they tried to conserve, the high bills continued. Although they could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems; first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc., all to no avail. One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water running downstairs. He finally tore himself from his sick bed & went to investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills. Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home. Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of the problem’ .. for posterity! Now open attachment.

Zabu was spayed and this is part one of her stay at our cat hospital. (*some graphic scenes of surgery are shown) Watch the Big Cat Rescue staff and volunteers use all the care in the world to make sure everything goes as planned. We do not breed our cats, as there are already so many unwanted big cats in the US Zabu is a white tiger which is not a rare seperate subspecies of tiger.
